How to Clean a Glass Bong Without Damaging It

Regular cleaning helps keep glass looking clear and prevents residue from building up in hard-to-reach areas. The biggest rule is simple: handle the piece gently and avoid sudden temperature changes.
1. Empty and rinse
Remove detachable parts and empty the water. Rinse the piece with warm water. Avoid boiling water because rapid temperature changes can stress glass.
2. Add isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt
For compatible glass pieces, isopropyl alcohol can help loosen residue while coarse salt acts as a gentle abrasive. Cover the openings securely and rotate the piece carefully rather than shaking it aggressively.
3. Detail narrow areas
Use soft pipe cleaners or cotton swabs where needed. Do not force metal tools into tight glass sections, and take extra care around percolators and thin joints.
4. Rinse thoroughly
Rinse until no cleaning solution or loose residue remains. Let every component air-dry fully before reassembly or storage.
5. Inspect the piece
Check for chips, cracks, or damaged joints while the glass is clean. If the glass is damaged, stop using the piece.
